Applications are invited from Unmarried Male Candidates to join the prestigious Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala for a four years degree course under the 10+2 (B.Tech) Cadet Entry Scheme.

Eligibility Conditions
- Age - 17 to 19 1/2 Years
- Educational Qualification - Passed Senior Secondary Examination (10+2 Pattern) or its equivalent examinations from any board with at least 75% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics(PCM) and at least 50% marks in English (either in Class X or Class XII)

- Height and Weight
Minimum Height - 157cms with correlated weight as per age.
- Eye Sight
The Minimum acceptable vision standards for distant vision is 6/6, 6/9 with glasses. Should not be color / night blind.

- Tattoo
Permanent body tattoos are not permitted on any part of the body, However, Certain concessions are permitted to candidates belonging to tribal communities/from tribal areas as declared by the Government of India. For other candidates permanent body tattoos are only permitted on inner face of forearms i.e.from inside of elbow to wrist and on the reverse side of palm/back (dorsal) side of hand. Pay Scale & Promotion Details
The promotion from Sub Lieutenant to Commander is on time scale basis and thereafter on selection basis subject to fulfilment of requisite service condition

Cost To Company (CTC)
The CTC for a sub Lieutenant would be approximately Rs. 74,1001- per month. This includes Basic Pay, DA, Grade Pay, Military Service Pay, House Rent Allowance and Transport allowance. These rates are not statutory and are subject to change.
Privileges
In addition to the CTC mentioned above, Navy provides Free Medical Facilities for Self & dependents, Canteen Facilities, Entitled Ration, Mess / Club / Sports Facilities, Furnished Govt. Accommodation, Car / Housing Loan at subsidised rate.
Group Insurance & Gratuity
Insurance cover of Rs. 50 lakhs (on contribution) and gratuity will be granted to the officer as per the latest rules in force.
Leave Entitlements
Officers are entitled to 60 days annual and 20 days casual leave every year (subject to service exigencies). They are also entitled 40% rail concession to any place and free travel (as per extant rules) for self and dependents. Leave during training period will be as per the Training Policy in force.
Sports & Adventure
The Navy provides facilities to pursue any sport of your liking. In addition, one can learn and participate in adventure sports, such as river rafting, mountaineering, hot air ballooning, hand gliding, wind surfing etc
Selection Procedure
- Candidates will be issued call up for Services Selection Board (SSB) based on their class XII (PCM) percentage or 'JEE (Main) rank' based on their choice.
- Equal number of candidates would be shortlisted for SSB from the two lists based on their merit. However, If the response from less, candidates from the other list will be considered forshort listing.
- Final induction will be on a common merit based on SSB marks.
SSB Interview
- SSB interviews for short listed candidates will be scheduled at Bangalore / Bhopal / Coimbatore / Visakhapatnam during Aug - Oct.
- Shortlisted candidates will be informed about their selection for SSB interview on their E-mail or through SMS (provided by candidate in their application form).
- SSB interview will be conducted in two Stages.
Stage I
Test consists of Intelligence test, Picture Perception test and Group Discussion. Candidates who fail to Qualify in Stage I will be routed back on the same day.
Stage II
Test comprises Psychological testing, Group testing and Interview which will last for 04 days. Successful candidates will thereafter undergo Medical Examination (approx duration 03-05 days).
- Candidates recommended by the SSBs and declared medically fit, will be selected for training in the order of an All India Merit List depending on the number of vacancies.
- Change of SSB venuefor interview is not permissible.
- Any correspondence regarding change of SSB date is to be addressed to the Call up Officer of the concerned SSB on receipt of call up letter. Award of fresh dates for SSB would be subject to availability
- No compensation will be paid in respect of any injury sustained as a result of tests
- Return 3rd AC rail fare is admissible for the SSB interview, if appearing for the first time for this entry
Training
Selected Candidates will be inducted as Cadets for four year B Tech course in applied Electronics & Communication or Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala.
During the course, Cadets will be allotted Executive or Engineering including Naval Architect specialisation or Electrical Branch. On completion of the course, B Tech Degree will be awarded by Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU)
Note:
The entire cost of training, including books and reading material, will be borne by the Indian Navy. The cadets will also be provided with free clothing and messing.
