To inculcate the quality of leadership healthy competition, self-confidence, Co-operation, Team Spirit among the cadets. All the activities and competitions are carried on at the house level by dividing cadets into four houses named after great religious and national leaders, and thinkers. One warden / teacher and two cadets (appointed as a House Captain and second as Vice-Captain) are appointed as in-charge of the house.
Houses of DCA
The house system exists mainly for the purpose of healthy competitions, based around the philosophy of team work and team spirit.
The DCA has 4 (Four) Houses which are named on the Great Warriors, Freedom Fighters, Philosophers and Thinkers.
They have been allotted different names, different colours and mottos which are as follows:-
The Houses perform the following duties by rotation:
To manage and conduct morning assembly
To command the assembly house-wise
To keep the all cadets of the house standing in line
To sing the Morning Prayer
To sing the National Anthem
To take pledge in Hindi or in English
Reading Daily English News– National, International & Sports News.
To deliver lecturette on certain topic or any specific occasion.
Quiz, G.K and C.A. presentations.
To give some announcement / Instruction, if any.
To celebrate birthday of the cadets.
To maintain discipline in class, in mess, on ground or during any function/celebration.
To conduct Inter House Sport Competitions.
To conduct co-curricular activities, festival celebrations etc.
to conduct cultural night once in a month.
to participation in ceremonial parade.
Points are awarded to each House and at the end of the year overall championship trophy is awarded to that House whose points are maximum and that house is honoured as ‘Champion House’.
